There’s a huge bias when it comes to reporting of missing people - a phenomenon often called “Missing White Woman Syndrome”. Reports are often determined by demographics such as ethnicity, gender, age and location. We worked with the Columbia Journalism Review to create AreYouPressworthy.com, an online tool that lets users enter their demographic data, and see how the press would cover their story if they went missing, giving them the information they need to join the fight for coverage equality.
